We stayed at Rangi's Rest on the coastal side of the road.
Good spot to watch the dolphins leaping. A short walk over the highway and the railway to clean hot showers.

A very cheery welcome from our efficient camp commandant.
Never heard so many bellbirds - made up for the less than hot showers. Great spot by the beach.

What a friendly welcome.
Not absolutely beach front but we parked van on the causeway by the sea for meals and enjoyed the burbling brook and the birds - not to mention the better than usual showers etc in the campground overnight.
