We recently had the pleasure of doing the white water raft on the Tongariro with our 2 kids (13 and 10) and cannot commend these guys enough for their friendliness, professionalism and ‘wow’ factor.
My husband and I have done this before in Australia but this was a first for our kids and they had a blast. Our guide, Luke made us feel extremely welcome and although there was enough adrenaline pumping action and thrills, we felt completely safe the whole time. This was due to the demo before we left base, and the clear instruction from our guide. My kids were particularly delighted when ‘Buddy’ the dog joined us on our raft and they loved doing the rock jump and drinking their hot chocolate on the river – things that made it even more special.
We managed a few action packed adventures during our 10 days in NZ (jet boating, hiking up volcanoes, exploring Geothermal Parks) but this was by far the highlight. It was great to get the photo disc afterwards as a permanent reminder of the experience. We're already planning our next trip in a couple of years, when we can tackle some Grade 5 rapids and Rafting New Zealand will be our first choice . We would recommend this experience to anyone.
