The most picturesque site we stayed at surrounded by extremely steep cliffs and thick rainforest.
It’s the only option for a campervan in the Milford Sound however it did not disappoint. The kitchen area was large and clean and the shower and toilet blocks were spotless and seemed like they were being constantly cleaned.
Very limited WiFi available in the reception and common areas, enough to send a message but download some TV before heading out. Sandflies were not an issue and the Wekas around camp were very cute.
There is not actually much to do in the area other than the tours, so bare that in mind when planning how many nights to stay.
Vegan options at the restaurant were great.

Large flat site by the waterside.
Our DOC camping passes were valid at this site so ignore the other reviews. Long drop toilets were clean. There is no mobile reception at the site except for at the stoney beach at (-45.0655652, 168.5486845).
Beach is great for skimming and nearby Bob’s cove walk is a must.

Nice well equipped holiday park with clean facilities and great showers.
Strongly advise stopping in Te Anau en route to Milford Sound as the drive is much longer than you think.

Nice flat spot just a 5 minute drive outside of Tekapo.
Incredible view of the stars on a clear night. Only facilities were a long drop toilet, which were clean. Decent amount of space when we visited in late March. Fairly close to the road but noise didn’t disturb at any point.

Decently sized DOC site, we booked ahead online although no one checked our passes for the 3 nights we were there.
Very well connected to several beautiful day hikes meant we easily stayed there for 3 nights.
Clean drinking water is available from the taps. There is a shower block around a 5 minute drive/45 minute walk back to Mt Cook village which was $2 for 4 minutes. We were able to charge our devices at the nearby Hermitage Hotel which also sells some very basic food items.

Very clean and well equipped facilities within 10 minute walking distance from central Queenstown.
Close to supermarkets. Only 500mb of free Wi-Fi provided which was a shame given the ~$50 fee.
Thanks for the review, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Our free WiFi is 1Gb, however you are able to upgrade to unlimited WiFi for 7 days/5 devices for $5. We hope to see you again in the future.

Beautiful location right by the beach, the road down was wiggly but fine in a small Escape campervan.
Facilities were basic but clean and suitable for the price.

Huge site with plenty of availability when we visited in late March.
One toilet block which is not very pretty but sufficed for a night. Nice views across the lake and not too many bugs. No drinking water and the bins were absolutely overflowing and rubbish piled up beside them, so bare that in mind before stopping.

Large site although was incredibly busy even in late March.
Long drop toilets did smell slightly but probably unavoidable given the volume of people. Incredible views across the lake all the way across to Mt Cook on a clear day. Steep hill down was fine in our Escape campervan.
