Great place to stay.
Flat places to camp with tent sites, powered and unpowered sites for vans. Hot showers, well equiped and clean kitchen also with hot water. Beer, wine and eggs for sale here. TV and comfy, clean sofa area.
Hosts are incredibly hospitable. Very close to town.
If the weather was good there would be so Many activities to do include rent golf clubs, bikes and many games. Great location for families or kids too.

$43 for one night, unpowered site, 2 people!
There is gendered and mixed gender showers & bathrooms here. Both are great but the ladies block has a good hair dryer and stronger water pressure! There is laundry onsite that requires coins, a kitchen with fairly good utensils. Flat pitches. Beautiful views. 5 mins to the car park for Roys Peak and 10 mins max to the main town
(Driving). Friendly staff!
Very recommendable camp ground.
They take card and cash.

By far the most challenging hike I’ve ever done simply because it’s relentlessly uphill.
There is no flat patches or down hills on the way up. On saying that the track is well established and the views are incredible all the way up!
When you think you’re at the top there is another 30-40 min climb to go!
No bouldering on this track, all walking.

Very nice place to stop, looking over the river.
They are very strict on non-self contained vehicles staying here. We were barely out of our van (non self contained) and a ranger was over telling us that we could not stay the night. Sounds fair enough if they are preserving the land from littering mentioned in previous comments.
We moved along to another lovely spot & a free camping spot 15 mins away called Lake Poaka which does have drop toilets. See more on that place on this app. Rated 6, only lower because we couldn’t stay!
