Allocated area in car parking lot.
Nice and flat and with good, clean flushing toilets nearby. According to the 2023 council byelaw number of spaces has increased from 10 to 20 although signage at the car park has not, as of yet, been updated. Convenience store and fish and take away really close round the corner too!

Lovely little freedom camping spot with 24h toilet right next to Aratiatia dam.
Nice, quiet spot and wasn't ever too busy the 3 nights we stayed. Much nicer than the other Taupo spot!

Very full and overall a bit grungy.
There are some disgusting portaloos scattered around which I wouldn't even consider using! Long drop Toilets located in the day parking section down the hill but felt like I was being gassed in there. The other spot outside of town is much nicer and well worth the 10 minute drive.

Beautiful spot right by the lake, you can watch the dew evaporating off around the lake in the morning - really cool!
Didn't find the toilets to be any where near as bad as previous reviews either, as clean and stink free as you can get with long drops.
