We biked this from Clyde to Alexandra.
Great family outing. Few sandy patches on the track and you had to watch for people coming the other way. Bonus of swinging in to the river on a buoy swing at the Alexandra end. Would recommend this to others. My husband biked back to get the car.

Beautiful camping ground and the camp hosts put on extra group activities for campers such as movies and scavenger hunts.
Rope swing was great fun. Kids loved the playground area. Swimming holes were beautiful.

Fantastic campground for family holidays, especially if you have mountainbikes with you as Naseby has tracks for all the family.
The swimming dam is a great way to cool off. The only thing that bugs me here is having to pay for the showers on top of the camping fee and you are not notified of this when you check in. 2A and 2C cost $42 for a tent site.

We loved staying here.
Apart from the toilets and water tap you have to be self suffcient. A sign says to boil the water but my son accidently drank it and he didn't get sick. We swam in the lake and we could hear a gale blowing up Lake Ohau but we were completely sheltered where we were. It was great being able to walk over the road to the other lake for a different view. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night - 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 12.
Modern and clean kitchen and bathroom facilities. The layout of the kitchen was awkward for several people to use at once but I have since read that there is a second kitchen somewhere. There was no freezer in our kitchen but maybe there is in the other one. My son enjoyed the playground.

This is the most unattractive campground I have ever stayed in - the ground was covered in gorse seedlings and stones.
However, it served it's purpose of being somewhere cheap to stay in Queenstown and we were only there overnight (arriving after 9 pm and leaving in the morning) so we weren't bothered. The campsite was full of young international travellers. It's not the kind of place you camp for a long time with the family - there is no grassy areas for kicking around a ball etc, and I wouldn't leave my tent set up while I went off and did other things. The composting toilets were clean. It's right on the lake edge but we weren't there long enough to go exploring.
