Really friendly and wonderful owner.
He was very welcoming. We paid 15pp. Facilities were old, but everything was pretty clean. Showers were free and hot. Kitchen setup was pretty good as well. It is near to a train track, but only one train passed in the night while we were there. We would definitely stay again!

Really great park, very clean, nice facilities.
Tons of showers and a great kitchen setup. A little pricey, we paid 46 for two ppl, non powered. No privacy between sites, but the sites are pretty big so it wasn't an issue. Wifi was pretty fast when it worked, but it kept disconnecting and the coverage was spotty.
The location is excellent, we couldn't spend a week on Kaiteriteri beach.

It's very busy, pretty noisy with the street and airport nearby, but it's free and in a big city.
For what it is, it's excellent. We stayed two nights, and on the second night we couldn't get a spot in the parking lot, but the street parking nearby is free and you're allowed to camp.
Bathrooms are basic, but clean. Garbage is constantly full, but emptied every morning.
Again, it's free in a big city which is incredible.

Great free option near Tongariro!
We stayed two nights. Bathrooms are really clean and free, there's tons of space to camp in the parking lot, even when it got busy we were all pretty spaced out. You can pay if you want to use the showers, kitchen, or laundry. Showers were $2 for five minutes, kitchen sink was $0.50 for five minutes, laundry was $4 for a wash and $4 for a dry.
You can buy the Kiwi camp tag at the local gas station and then load it up using their app if you want to use the paid facilities. They also have a "secure" camping area, but that didn't seem worth it unless you need power.
We would definitely stay again.
