Right next to the ocean and clean toilet and outside shower (cold water only).
This place only has 6 spots though (marked spaces) and only allows non-self contained vehicles. Saturday night they apparently empty the recycling bins there, which woke me up... (not sure if it was real early or real late)

Beautiful spot to stay at.
There's no signs to indicate where to park you self-contained vehicle though.
Toilet is fine for a drop toilet.
We were the only ones there. We had a quiet night. No locals making noise or anything.

Really nice spot.
Sunset over the mountain was stunning. Cafe still closed unfortunately but the toilet was all we needed. Small water point available outside to fill you (smaller) water bottle. 3 official camper spots, but the lower part of the parking lot can be used for self-contained vehicles at the end of the day also according to the lady inside.

Great big grassy area to stay the night.
Had a nice swim in the lake. Toilet with desinfection gel and warm showers (2min max per person).

Confirming the reviews below.
Aratiatia rapids on the other side of the road were cool to watch once the dams opened at 10am. Quite some campers, but space enough for everyone. Nice view on the lake and some morning sun.

Great spot with a nice view on all sides.
Toilets were clean, water and soap available. Mostly big campervan when we were there with our van. Nice piece of forest at the top of the peninsula, where we went to view the sunset. Nice to see the big birds sit up all high in the trees.

The one with the toilet further down the coast is indeed no longer allowed.
But a bit even further (Algiers Bay) there are 3 Self contained vehicle spots (clearly marked) where you can stay 2 nights. There's a public toilet with outside shower. Parking spots are on an incline though.

Nice quiet spot, watching out over the lake.
Toilets are right next to the parking lot. Toilet did stink, a lot, but still beats using the porta potty.
