Great location.
Allows 15 campers. The two toilets are clean and have soap and toilet paper. The toilet is the only facility, hence no water tap, no trash bins, etc. You must collect your trash and throw it out elsewhere. The place is used by locals during the day for jetskiing and motorboading, so there is occational engine noise, though they stop in the evening. We camped on a Saturday and Sunday, and there were plenty of space at all times.

Big parking lot.
Room for ~10 cars (powered) for a fee, and 100+ non-powered for free. Great facilities (hot shower, dry cleaner, washing station, hot plate stove) payed for with KiwiCash (a tag can be bought at the nearby café and petrol station), and three clean flush toilets (free). The train does pass once every few hours, hence some noise is present at times.
If going for the Tongariro Apline Crossing hike, some shuttle busses do pick-ups from this parking lot.

Perfect location to spend the night.
Plenty of space on the parkinglot for campers. Toilets were clean, and it is possible to dispose grey water and fill up on drinking water. We arrived on a Friday and there were plenty of space left throughout the night. Noise level is at a minimum. Only noise were from late arrivals.
