Clean toilets, plenty of space and nice view on the river.
No signal. And the showers are unfortunately closed due to vandalism…:(

Nice place next to the park, nice place to spend a bight.
I felt safe. Just a bit loud sometimes and no toilet nearby.

This place definetly deserves better rating now!
Nice place, very calm, nice new clean toilets. Maybe prepare for some sandflies which was not our case because we came during winter.

One of the two freedom camps in the harbour which are pretty the same (second one is missing in Rankers).
Nice toilets cleaned twice a day and two cold showers on each site. Quite windy. And a beautiful spot to watch the sunset!

The best spot before or after sailing to Wellington.
Very calm to hear the birds and see the stars. Just the toilets are quite far away. There is a water tap on the first “electric pole”.

A little bit weird place in the middle of the carpark, but it was calm to stay there.
Toilets (24/7) nearby in the park next to the old building of bank. And the best fish and chips we’ve ever had on NZ just around the corner!

Very nice camping area, we stayed for two nights during our travelling.
Nice clean flushing toilets and recycling bins. We had fun with one curious cheeky Weka bird.

Make sure to come earlier, espetialy during summer. We stayed for two nights in June, came around 5pm and took one from the last spots.

Toilets, changing rooms, cold shower, rubbish and recycling bins, dump station and drinking water tap…and little blue penguins after sunset coming to the beach!

We stayed here for four nights when visiting Taupo including the Gabrielle cyclone and we felt very safe.
Nice view on the Aratiatia dam. One long drop toilet is quite ok unfortunatelly no water, but it is easy to refill the tanks in the city.

A big area, calm night.
It could become muddy after rain, long drop toilets are quite ok, just some people dont close the lid so sometimes it was very stinky. Non potable water supply for washing the dishes or filling the solar shower. Our neighbours were a bit weird, looks like they live there.

Nice location with a nice views, a lot of flat space for +- 20 campers.
Clean long drop toilet, no water supply. Nice walks to see the falls or the caves are worth it. SC certification checked in the evening.
