Arrived late on a Thursday night and got a spot behind the reception building on the bench with a nice view of the lake.
Bathroom with free hot showers were clean, and a small kitchen area with fridges and a stove + hot plate and kettle. Sinks for washing up. Did our laundry here and enjoyed a mellow night - would stay again on our way through as we were losing daylight and didn’t want to drive in the dark. Wasn’t super busy and was close to Mt John, the town and the hot pools.

Loved this spot!
Visited on a Sunday night and tons of space available, got one right on the beach. Toilet block was near us, and a short walk to the clean bathroom/kitchen/lounge area. It’s also right across the street from Bike Glendhu which is AMAZING if you’re a mtn biker and they also have a great cafe on site (coffees and also beers/nachos/pizzas) with a great outdoor hang out zone for adults and kids.

Loved this spot!
Reception was super friendly and got a powered site walk-in on a Monday evening. Kitchen/bathroom is in an old hangar which was super cool. Great wifi. Really clean and organized.

The best site we stayed at on our South Island trip!
$50 for a powered site for 2 people with access to a pristine bathroom block, fully stocked kitchen (they also had a bin of people’s food donations if you needed spices or sauces) + a gas bbq and… pizza oven!? Lounge was cozy and super homey with a wood fired stove, games and a TV. The night sky is amazing and clear and views across the valley into the mountains. Plus an amazing wall of glow worms a couple minutes walk from our site had us questioning why we paid in Waitomo. Host was incredibly friendly, lots of walk in spots on a Wednesday night. This place is sweet, don’t skip it!

Stayed one night (Friday) after spending the day in Mt Cook area and were losing daylight.
Went to Razza’s for dinner (would recommend for a rural NZ experience - $11 jugs of beer and a huge burger!). Reception was closed when we arrived so followed instructions to book online and choose a site. Sites were really small but was all very well maintained. Hot free showers and a clean bathroom. Small kitchen that suited our kettle and sink needs. Did the trick for a night and would stay again in a pinch.

Awesome, quiet spot!
We stayed for one night (Tuesday night) and there were only a few other campers. Could have been that the weather was torrential, but anyways! Friendly camp host $15pp/per night. $2 for a 4 minute hot shower. Sweet little kitchen space with fridge and some charging outlets/lounges. Outside sink area and bbq. Sites had a picnic table too. Everything super clean. We woke up to glorious sunshine and a view of some snow capped mountains, sunrise over the lagoon and lots of bird life. A special spot - would recommend!

Booked one night online as it was Saturday and holidays - got a standby site which was confirmed a few hours later by email.
Small campground and everything is super close together, got a powered site right besides the main washrooms. Because of that it was quite noisy w people coming and going. Convenience factor was that it was right in town. Bathrooms were clean and seemed to have a large kitchen/hang out area. Kitchen has a boiling water tap which was super convenient for morning coffee to get up and get out of Queenstown.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review Kilee, we hope to see you again in the future!
