I solo camped at Sanctuary and really loved it there.
I had the whole Campsite to myself (it is/was) July - winter)
The night walk was so cool. I went looking for kiwi, but only ended up bumping into an Australian (a possum) who scared the loving heck out of me. On the night walk, remember to turn off your torch every now and then and you may spot little specks of glow worms on the forest floor.
There are about three or four firepits. Loved having the whole campfire experience. There are probably enough spaces to fit six or seven mid-sized tents.
There is no tap water, but you could probably use the stream water if you boil it.
The drive to Minginui from Murapara is crazy windey (FYI if you're driving a big vehicle), and the dirt road could make it challenging (but possible) for 2WD or lowered vehicles to get through.
There's one long-drop toilet, which was relatively clean

Went here after going to Lake Okareka and seeing it completely packed (summer holidays), ended up having a great time.
There were plenty of spaces, the scenery was pretty enough, and the other guests were quiet and respectful.
The toilets were relatively clean and had soap, however they didn't have lights, which was disappointing considering it's paid campsite.
