One of my favourite free sites, chill vibes, really close to the beach, lovely wekas and most importantly not too many sandflies!
The toilet is clean and sometimes smelly but really depends on the guests closing the lid.
Pretty basic but waking up with coffee on the beach and a quick dip is priceless

Very nice campsite, awesome facilities, can was clothes and take a shower and have a shelterd spot where to cook.
Has drinking water which is always a plus. Some nice walks in the are and the position is perfect. Make sure to check out the eels in the lake just by pointing a torch to the water as suggested in a previous review. Only problem were the ridicolous amount of sandflies so be well prepared!

Fine campsite, just a park with long drop toilets.
The position is good but not amazing and doesnt have anything to justify the price, been to much better free DOC sites

Lovely spot with almost everything you need, clean toilets, showers, sinks, some shelter, even a recycling station.
Well positioned close to Hokitika and on a very cute lake and not too many sandflies

Hard to think of a more scenic campsite, parking literally 4 meters away from the water was a great experience.
Really close to Arthur's Pass which is a plus.
Giving only 9/10 just because in all honesty there are plenty of free campsites out there with the same facilities as this one so not sure how the price is justified but still, definitely wort a visit
