We really liked this campsite.
Perfect spot for doing the Tongariro crossing and the lady who checked us in was really helpful for advice regarding this as well.
The facilities were lovely. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Good sized kitchen. We enjoyed the common space as well - lots of plugs.
We were lucky to have a clear night and there was an amazing view of the stars!

Loads of space and good views!
Drop toilets, but they were pretty clean. There were quite a lot of bity insects (not sandflies, something else) so just keep doors closed if you can.

Probably one of our favourite sites from our whole trip.
Facilities were amazing and so clean. It is a little way out of Queenstown, but easy to get the watertaxi into town and actually only an hours walk along the lake if you fancy it.

Probably the best spot to stay if you're planning on doing Roy's peak early the next day.
It is a bit of a walk into the centre of wanaka, but most of the walk is along the lake which is nice.
Good facilities. Really big kitchen which was great! It was quite busy the night we stayed, would recommend booking in advance.

We really liked this campsite!
It's quite big, but arranged as such that each parking spot feels pretty private. Good facilities in terms of showers, bathrooms and kitchen. Not enough bins though.
Hi Mil
Thanks for the feedback, we hope you can stay again soon

Whatever you do, keep your doors closed because there is more sandflies than I've ever seen.
Otherwise, theres loads of space and the toilets are OK. A nice little walk around a very mossy forrest just at the entrance to the campsite.

Great little campsite with space for 9 vehicles.
Drop toilets, but very clean. Several cheeky weka around so watch they don't steal your dinner!
The owner did a tour to a glow worm dell for $10 and it was really good! I think he also does bird tours as he's involved in their conservation.

Really busy and squashed in, but free and convenient for Wellington.

Really nice freedom camping spot.
Fairly busy, but not too bad. Drop toilets on site, but flushing toilets a 2 min drive down the road. There was a great little bay to have a swim in the lake as well.

Decent little campsite with good views.
Toilets are relatively clean, though are drop toilets.
The campsite is big, but due to trees and uneven ground, there's not that much space for parking up.

A nice spot.
Essentially a car park at the top of the Kaiate falls walk. Busy when we arrived, but only 3 vans stayed the night. One drop toilet, which is not very clean, but does the job. Bins available. The walk around the falls itself is lovely!
