Very disappointing walk, don't understand why it's so highly rated.
Nowhere near the gorge and winds through dense forest with no sunshine and in the gloom. Would be ok for exercising if you don't mind the dark gloom. Would be better to have walked along the closed road by the river. The best thing are the superb toilets in the carpark?

The only good thing about this site is the view across the lake.
We paid for 2 nights but stayed only one because of the incessant traffic noise on SH1. Hardly slept at all. Perhaps pitches up the hillside would be quieter.
Hello Ron and thank you for your review. Due to road closures after the cyclone, the highway has been busier than ever past the park. I'm sorry this has had a negative effect on your stay and this will die down once the traffic decreases to normal. We do still have traffic under normal circumstances however not like it has been. Appreciate you taking the time to review and wishing you safe and happy travels.
