Lovely free camping spot with toilets opposite.
Felt very safe but can hear the traffic sometimes during nights, especially on weekends. Woke up early to watch the sunrise on the beach- definitely recommend doing this!!

decent campsite!
Very busy when we stayed on labour weekend. Facilities were clean. Shower is coin operated, as well as the washing machine which also comes with detergent and only does cold wash.

Nice simple campsite in Franz Josef.
Small en suite cabins with sink, toilet and shower. Basic kitchen with BBQ outside. Good value for money.
Hi Lara, it is great to hear you found us good value for money, we hope you can stay again soon.

Arrived here at about 4pm and were the first people here, and by 7pm there were another 5 campers with 4 spaces left.
Not a lot here, but you can take a nice walk around the water. The toilets are still closed due to covid restrictions so bare this in mind. Was a very quiet and peaceful spot.

Beautiful park with 3 freedom camping spaces which were all full by 5pm.
Plenty of dog walking which is sweet to watch from your window :) toilets were a bit dirty and a couple of minutes walk. Felt very safe here

Very basic campsite but great considering its free.
We only stayed for one night before we got the ferry across to picton. Arrived around 4 and it was around half full, then went out for walk and by the time we got back around 6 it was almost full. You are very close to your neighbours however again it is a free campsite so cant complain. Toilets are open overnight and were clean.

Nice quiet location.
Got here quite late but rang ahead and were told that if we got there before the office closed to just go and pay in the morning. Lovely staff with clean toilet facilities. Didn’t use the shower but you can pay with pay wave in the shower block.

Definitely the best campsite we’ve stayed in!
A new campsite that has definitely had a lot of funding and hard work put into it. Slightly more expensive but 100% worth it. Gorgeous views from the kitchen and outdoor seating area. Most campsite spots are set up to get a lake view. The whole site is cashless including washing machines and dryers that are card/paywave only. Absolutely will stay again.

Stayed here for one night and it filled up very quickly.
Nice stop over. Toilets were a bit dirty but can’t complain as it was free. Good dish washing sinks :)

Gorgeous camping area overlooking Lake Pukaki.
Tons of space, but very bad quality bumpy steep road so be careful driving it. Toilets were clean long drop toilets, depending on where you park may be a 5 min walk. Would definitely stay again :)

Fantastic park, couldn’t have had a better experience.
The toilet and shower blocks were cleaned daily along with the kitchen/shared room. The pool is currently not open but the hot pools are and you have a lovely view of the snowy mountains from them. The staff were amazing and friendly, and the Wi-Fi was very fast, unlimited and covered the majority of the park. Will 100% come back next time we are in Kaikoura :) also recommend the bakery next door to get a quick breakfast!

Had a quick and easy check in, only met one member of staff but she was lovely.
The park was peaceful and facilities clean. The kitchen had plenty of space to cook, clean, and a big communal table in the middle. You cant adjust the shower temp but it was warm. Be aware that the lights in the mens bathroom are on a sensor so if you are showering when its dark outside, the bathroom will be pitch black 5 minutes into your shower unless you go out and set the sensor off again 😂. Enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Amazing stay in Te Anau!
One of the best bathroom/shower facilities we have used. Staff were friendly. Kitchen area is very big and communal. Absolutely will stay again. Great views of the lake.
