Such a beautiful spot - the views were one of the best we experienced during our trip.
Long drop toilets were ok but full of flies!
Looks like there was a new outdoor shelter which had sinks to wash dishes. No drinking water though and recommend to boil water before using.
Quite a lot of insects so would recommend bug spray. Got quite cold in the morning as the sun took a while to get over the mountains.
Only 20 min drive from centre of Queenstown.
Would recommend bringing cash but the rangers do come round and should be able to get signal to pay by card if needed.

Nice campsites with good facilities.
Not a lot of showers so try and go at a time where it won’t be busy.
Kitchen was quite packed too at times but the campsite was busy so was to be expected.
Beach only 2 min walk away and had the most amazing sunset!

Amazing location and campsite - we were so lucky to get the last spot - would definitely recommend booking in advance.
Toilets and showers were one of the cleanest we experienced during our trip. Great kitchen with chill out area with a tv.
Thanks so much for the review Katie, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us at Creeksyde and we hope to see you again one day!

Amazing spot for freedom camping - the views across the lake to Mount Cook was unreal and sunset was amazing!
Toilet can be quite far away depending on where you park and it does get very busy but wasn’t too crowded for us.

This place was amazing - one or if not the best campsite we stayed in during our 3 week campervan trip.
Everything was laid out perfectly. Lots of availability for powered and non- powered sites. Showers were nice and hot - plenty of them and plenty of toilets.
Kitchen facilities were really good. Washer and dryers available at $4 each.
Really cute animals too - lots of sheep, cows, goats and alpacas!
Definitely stay here!!

This was an interesting stay staying on a cricket ground but was absolutely fine.
There are some locals that stay there permanently I think but they were very friendly.
Make sure you have cash as you need to put cash in an envelope and post it through the door.
Showers are nice and hot at $2 - looked like the toilets and showers were pretty new and of good condition.
One outdoor sink to wash dishes.
Dumping site was closed when we were there.
V v cheap to stay so can’t complain!

Very busy but had private ish spots so felt like you had your own space.
Good hot showers which I think were $2-3 each. Laundry facilities also available but recommend going after 7/8pm when quieter.
Water for van available and drinking water available from kitchen. Dumping station also available.
Hi Kate
Thanks for the feedback, just to confirm that HOT showers are free for guests and included in the $15 pp price

Very rustic but lovely campsite.
Compost toilets which were actually fine, hot showers. The outdoor kitchen was really cute and had everything you needed - sinks, cooking facilities etc.
We stayed right by the river which was so peaceful. So many amazing walks around the campsite, amazing huge swing and mudslides (which were unfortunately closed when we were there). There was also an abandoned film set in the middle of the forest - definitely kept us entertained!
Really amazing stay for our last night in our campervan!

Very basic site but was ideal for stopping before heading to Milford Sound the next morning.
Toilets really weren’t nice though - they smelt really bad. Expected more for $15 each.

Not bad but quite pricey for the facilities you get.
Long drop toilet and no drinking water available.
Lots of flies!

Lovely but quite basic campsite - amazing views of the cliffs.
Showers were nice and hot - $4 though for 5 mins which is the most we paid for during our New Zealand trip.
Kitchen facilities were very basic - just a couple of sinks to wash dishes in but there was shelter if you wanted to cook under cover.
Overall would recommend - pretty decent campsite to stop at on way to Wellington.

Beautiful site to stay at - a little expensive at around $60ish for a powered site for one evening but the hospitality was amazing and we were happy to pay extra as they had quite a bit of damage from
the cyclone.
The owners were really friendly and welcoming. So many animals on the farm which we loved - lots of chickens, sheep, alpacas! Be careful when eating though as a chicken literally sat on my plate while I was having dinner! They are harmless though and you can wave them away.
rustic but lovely showers / toilets. Kitchen was still out of use from Covid but were able to use the sink for washing up.
Would recommend - great location when visiting Huka Falls and Lake Taupo!

Earl is a legend… so friendly and will go out of your way to help you.
This was our first campsite on our trip and it didn’t disappoint - the views were amazing and lots of room to park up our van and watch the sunset. $20 each for a non powered site… little pricier than what we paid around the rest of the island but Earl’s friendliness made up for it!
Portaloo toilets and cold showers.
Must go see New Chums beach - we had to wade through the water to get there but was so so worth it!!

Would recommend getting there before 3/4pm - we arrived after 3.30pm and struggled!
It’s just a parking lot so vans are parked very close together but all we needed before getting the ferry to the South Island.
A couple of toilets and drinking water supply.
The sunset was unreal so top points for that!

This place is perfect to stay for free on your way to or out of Rotorua.
Lots of space for campers under the trees or in the car park. The new facilities needed a kiwi camp key which you can buy from most shops and load money on to. Toilets were immaculate and could be used for free.
Also had drinking water, showers, kitchen facilities etc. it was such a good freedom camping site we returned the next evening! Really recommend

This campsite was amazing!
We wanted somewhere to stay while driving round the Coromandel and this did not disappoint.
Beautiful beach only 5 mins walk away through the forest. We arrived late and we were able to pick our spot and pay in the morning. Coffee shop and cute little shop by reception. Good kitchen facilities, hot showers, laundry facilities, bbq etc all available.
