Super central and well worth the $30/24hr fee.
Walk to Te Papa museum, walk to eateries Cuba Street and water front. We stayed on a Friday night and whilst a bit noisy early in the night, quietened down relatively quickly. Very easy and quick access to inter Island ferries.

Nice rural free camp.
Spots clearly marked. Toilets not open during our visit and a good 5 min walk from the free camp spots. Nice walk around the lake takes you past the toilets and back to the camping parks. Quiet during our stay and minimal road noise. Liquid wash in Blenheim is a great place to do washing and drying.. taking under 1hr for a family of 4 washing including drying time... getting you back to looking around with minimal interruption.

Great spot, fairly level and right on the beach.
Toilets very clean and well kept. Warden checks to see all vehicles are certified self contained. Walking distance to the NZ Aquarium that is worth a visit. We stayed on a Tuesday night and it was quite and peaceful.

Great spot.
Has news toilets that are clean and tidy. Right on the 24 bus route for a 30 min ride into/out of town - $6.00 for a family of 4 each way. Can also get to bus route 2 easily that gets you over to the Weta Workshop for a fantastic 'Lord of the Rings' experience. Dump spot close at hand also. A little bit of aircraft noise as is close to airport. All in a a great place in central Wellington.
