Beautiful river views, clean facilities and hot high pressure showers only $2 for plenty of time. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming, kids love the jumping pillow and swimming in the river. 10/10!

Amazing lake swimming and hardly any sandflies when the sun was out.
Flat enough camping spot at the south end of the campsite with great cooking shelter/cold running water for dishes. Only downside is the lack of toilet facilities at this end of the camp, quite a hike to the clean, well maintained toilets down by the lake. Beautiful spot with lots of friendly wekas.

Awesome spot, lots of friendly wekas and plenty of space to spread out.
Solar shower rope hoists in the bathrooms are a bonus and loved the new shelter with sinks for dishes too!

Motunau Beach Camping

Easy place to pull into with a bus for the night.
Awesome rope swing for kids and public toilets are basic but fine. Nice flat sites and heaps of safe space to run around. No views really as just next to a tidal river but walk to cool rocky/ muddy beach takes about ten min so all good for $10 a site!

Lovely stay here with the family over New Year 2021/22.
New owner is very friendly and helpful, had a lush site between huge native trees for shade and bright purple blooming hydrangeas. Toilets/showers are old school but super clean. Walking distance to big, quiet and private beach as well as cool climbing trees for kids. Also caught some fish at the river mouth and crazy but there was NO SANDFLIES!
