We stopped at riverlands truck stop in the caravan after 9.5 hours of travelling with kids.
bathrooms were very clean and showers were great, we had a good sized cheap feed in the Cafe and the kids played puttputt. Lots of road/truck noise but we were to tired to care. Not a luxury stay but a great stop off to fuel us for another day or driving.

Such a hidden gem!
We stumbled upon cheviet when looking for a nights stop on route to christchurch and we are so glad we stayed! Gorgeous boutique accommodation. The bathrooms are more ensuite then campground, kitchen is well equipped with everything from slow cookers to blenders, kids loved the pool and playground. Gardens are immaculate and give a real b&b vibe. We didn't want to leave!!

Great park.
Pool was perfect for little people as was the large playground. Affordable week rate was a plus. Facilities are slightly dated but are clean and functional. Free wifi, lots of dvds/books to borrow and a family room filled with games/toys.

Awesome spot!
So quiet despite being rather central. Lots of animals and space for the kids, nice little walks to explore. Water available, long drops weren't the nicest but a bit of a drive to the nearest dump station. Overall would definitely stay again

Great!
Showers are amongst the best we have ever used. Beautiful and lush gardens have a tropical vibe. Kids loved all the swings and the communal area has a great vibe with open fire. Only fault is the communal kitchen was a bit dirty, dishes not fully cleaned, cupboards smelt very damp, oven a mess and only plastic cutlery available. Overall however, we would stay again.

2. Great range of animals that the kids loved engaging with and fun tree house.
PROs:
1. Immaculately clean kitchen/bathrooms
3. Very short walk to shops/cafe/pub
CONS:
1. Lack of reception, tricky when you work remotely.
2. Website says guests can "pick and enjoy" from seasonal fruit trees, you cannot. We got told off and called "cheeky" for allowing our kids to pick a few things each.
3. There are a lot of permanent campers, some are lovely but most made us feel as if we were encroaching on their space, there were a lot of loud drinks within this group during the week we were there too.
Overall, it's not a bad camp if you need a base whilst exploring the far north it's great and has everything you need but its not a camp we would want to hang around in.
Thank you for your comments. To answer some of your points; Not all cell phone providers have good reception at our holiday park, but we do have very good WIFI throughout the hliday park that you can purchase if you need to. We do have seasonal fruit, and in the 23 years I have been here, you are the first family that thought it was OK to help yourself without asking (I will clarify the wording on our website). It was your partner/husband I saw who helped himself to a ladder, climbed it and was picking unripe bananas from the trees. We spoke, and you returned to your bus with fruit and eggs. I will speak to the permenants about your feeling uncomfortable - this is not acceptable. Mostly guests find our residents very friendly and helpful. Kind regards JO

Lovely stay.
Park is tired as mentioned in other reviews but is clean. Small playground and tramp for the kids plus a few rope swings dotted around the park. Kitchen is basic but well stocked. Free wifi a bonus. No dump station which isn't listed but it's a short drive into dargaville so not a big drama for us as we headed into town for groceries anyway. Sharkeys is a few doors down and does a great feed with daily happy hour. Overall we loved our stay.

Awesome park, bathrooms are super clean and shower is better then mine at home!
Staff are friendly and always smiling. Heaps for the kids to do, not far from rotorua central but feels a world apart. Would definitely visit again.
