Sounds great on paper - hot tubs, lake access but really overpriced - toilet unusable at night due to huge bug invasion.
Not pleasant.

You don't need your own spade, really there is only 2 main spots where the water under the sand is hot and by the time you get there it will have hollowed out by other people - just wait it out and then
jump into an available spot to enjoy.

We were really disappointed with this thermal park - the leaflet made it sound fully action but it is tame!!
Save you $30 (yes that's right, $30 per person!) and go to Craters of the Moon near Huka Falls for $5.

This is really handy for the ferry crossing but it is essentially a carpark that you pay $38 for the priviledge of sleeping in.
Not bad facilities but not worth the cost.

Great spot next to the lakes.
Hot showers and facilities at bargain rate. Just need to stock up on mossie repellant.

Go with the Original Black Water Rafting Company - we did the Labrynth tour and it was the best activity ever.
Really friendly guides - an incredible experience you won't forget.

Good company to go with - they have decent bikes and helmets, give you a great packed lunch and it is a fantastic way to see the wineries.
7 out of 9 visited in a day - try for 9. Company could improve by providing pick-up from local accommodation (even at nominal fee) as taxis are $35 per trip.

We chose them because of the VW vans they have - it drives like a car and has all the little luxuries you can think of.
They were really helpful when we picked up the van and since we have been on the road they have been responsive when we have emailed with questions.
