We pulled in, saw a mud pit for the SC site and decided to keep driving.
Based on signage, it doesn’t seem like the small community wants the freedom camping spot.

Incredibly clean facility with easy access to town (good exercise walking back!) and spectacular views.
You do need to provide your own dishes in the kitchen but everything else is there including washable hand towels in the bathroom.

Easy place to stay for an early morning ferry ride.
Everything was very clean and staff were friendly. Don’t miss the bakery in town that opens up at 6:00 am.

Staff were exceptionally friendly from check-in to trail recommendations to morning coffee the next day.
The kitchen had everything we needed from spoons to wonderful conversations with fellow travelers. Visitor Center right across the street.

Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the easy access to the beach.
Staff friendly and place is clean. A bit on the funky side but gives it character.

Good “off the beaten tourist path” freedom camping spot.
Bathrooms opened all night and a lovely hot shower in the morning. Great spot for a long walk through several parks after driving.
