Who loves the windy and cold night?
It is a place.for you then. Amazing experience for a brave hiking with 16 months & 3 year old we had here. We didn't end up staying the night though due to cold weather. But if it is not during the winter we would have loved staying here for a night. Reasonably pleasant toilet and it seems to be very popular and well managed spot.

My family of four with 2 little children arrived here after sunset in winter (late June) and our campervan was the only vehicle in the middle of dark redwood forest with no reception of mobile or internet
. So we decided not to stay here overnight. Toilet was very very sad, a can of beer also left in there. Felt unpleasant. However, it would be a lovely spot to spend a few hours during the daylight I suppose.

Very tidy, pleasant and safe environment for our family of four including two little children (18 months and 3 year old).
We enjoyed staying here 3 nights in winter. Not so cold compared to near the mountain area. Very peaceful in the morning. Every night there were at least 5 other campervans around. The only con we experienced was some night ride boy racers made noisy cruising around the park at late night but it didn't last long. Great accesss convenience due to being close to New Plymouth city centre.

Easy 10 stars for this stunning location.
Our family of four stayed a night in a campervan in late June with no issues at all (18 months & 3 year old). Toilet is ok clean, surrounding areas feel very safe. There were two other campervans in a large car park on the night we stayed. Enjoyed amazing view of snow peaked mt Taranaki & a big full rainbow after the rain side by side after our brekkie, unforgettable memory!
Unfortunately we missed out on any walk due to leaving straight after breakfast. But I would come back for another night and do some walks next time. My kids loved running around in the huge flat carpark with My Taranaki as a backdrop
