Great value.
Don't bother with Shotover jetboat unless you have no time. Trip up Skippers Canyon with great commentary. Description of the gold rush facilities. Jetboat ride was great with more commentary about actual gold mining sites. 3 hours.

Great stop over when travelling from Milford to Queenstown.
Very home like touches, flowers and even herbs in the kitchen. TV room/parlour had books and even free videos to watch.

camped right beside creeek, had site to ourselves. Great stop over to meet first morning cruise at Milford.

Great site overlooking beach with sea lions and cubs coming and going.
Facilites clean. If it is damp, do not go off the gravel onto grass, you will get bogged. Sign post to Purakaunui Bay was pointing to uphill road when should have pointed to lower road

Our best view of the whole trip.
Well worth the climb, only 1.5 hours of steep stuff. Snow along the track in last 300metres. This is great time of year to go (mid Sept) as the snow in the valley looked spectacular. Saw and heard 3 small avalanches much further up the valley

Great campsite overlooking river. Clean amenities, hot showers, no power. It snowed, about 1cm. Friendly supervisor, (old shearer and his wife), with some great yarns (stories)

Most expensive campsite we stayed in for whole of our trip, then an extra $2 for shower.
Facilities very old (but clean) campervan sites not level, sloped down hill. They need some competition!
