What a beautiful little spot!
We enjoyed the Waipatiki scenic reserve hike and the lookout hike nearby.
Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather when we visited, so our beach day didn't happen.
This campsite had a wedding the day before we arrived, so we didn't meet the owners, but we appreciated them letting us stay straight after such a big event!
The showers and toilets were clean.
And they have a little shop on-site, where you can buy drinks, treats and useful camping items.

We stayed here for one night and really loved it.
The toilet block was clean and well maintained.
There were loads of places to choose from, most were sheltered by trees. There were quite a few campers dotted about, as well as some cars parked up between bushes, but it was still very quiet!
It's also right by the beach! So nice to fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves.
There are no street lights or anything so it gets very dark at night.
We'll be back again for sure!

Really lovely spot for freedom camping!
We got a spot right in front of the lake and close to the toilets (which were clean). Bus cafe next to us sold nice coffee in the morning - owners were really welcoming and friendly. There's a spacious flat grass area where we had a fish & chip (from down the road) picnic.
There's quite a few camper spots to choose from.
Really popular spot with the locals. We loved watching them speed around the lake on their boats, jet skis & water toys.
There's a little fun island in the lake that you can swim to with a slide etc.
We stayed for one night and loved it!

The campsite staff were super friendly and welcoming!
The cafe looked yummy.
We chose a powered beachfront site, so nice going to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing.
The toilets and showers were clean (you have to pay $1 to use the showers).
