Enjoyed two nights here made the most of the hot pool but it does close early at 7.30pm.
The owners were very friendly as were the other campers staying.
Had a great spot considering how wet it was didn’t get stuck. Was a bit small wouldn’t have got my awning out if it was summer but I saw larger sites available.
Facilities were old but well maintained and looked after.
Dogs allowed
Washing and drying is $2 each so good value.
Showers free and nice and hot.

Booked last minute to have a night by the sea and watch the sunset was a two minute walk to the beach so perfect for me.
Was woken a few times by goods trains in the night.
Dog friendly.
Shower block old but clean and serviceable push button for showers free.
No hair dryers.
Didn’t use washer dryers so not sure.
Good sized sites.

A fabulous job has been done by the new owners.
Dog friendly
Swimming Pool and hot pool
Brand new showers etc kitchen laundry
Movie nights for kids with a great communal area for all to enjoy.
A coffee kiosk open daily.
If you want a big site make sure you ask for one of the larger ones when you book or when you arrive.
Won’t be the cheapest place but will def be one of the best you stay at.

We had planned to stay at NZMCA campground but left and came here.
Office was lovely to deal with. Dog friendly. Nice wee bush walk to huge Kauri tree. Check tides if you want to swim as it was out when we were there in the evening and out again in the morning.
Paid showers but clean and toilets good. Price ok at $22 per person.
Nice flat site can also go over the hill to next camp only long drop but not overcrowded owned same people.

Stayed here one night on our way north.
It was $20 each for a powered site so a bit steep as is very old and rundown. Was spotless though and a very friendly custodian. A flock of chooks with a rooster who will wake you at 4.30am so be ready. The hot pools are great in an amazing setting but pricey at $20 each. Although that was for the whole of our stay so you could have gone again.
