Stayed at this holiday park last year and was unhappy to pay $2 for a few minutes of hot shower in addition to the expensive camp fees.
Since this holiday park is the closest to the town centre (about 5 minutes' walk), we decided to stay there again. And I'm glad i returned!
PROS:
- Showers are now FREE!
- They've also upgraded their security system. Now, you will need to enter a 4-digit code to enter the toilet/showers block & campsite
- Large dining area and kitchen
- Clean and modern amenities
CONS:
- Washing machines & dryers operate on tokens (annoying!)
- The powered sites are very small
- No hairdryer

Excellent DoC campsite - the BEST we've stayed at!
Clean and well-maintained campsite with plenty of space to park your vehicle(s) at.
The camp shelter is very clean and tidy with clean running water. There are clean flush-toilets and wash basins - tissue papers are also provided.
Dump station is also available on site.
TIP: Hot showers are available (at $2.00 for 5 mins, if i'm not mistaken) at the public shelter in the village - at the Governors Bush Walk starting point.

This is one of the BEST campsite we stayed at.
When we visited on 11-May, we were the only ones there so we had the whole place to ourselves. The hosts were very friendly and told me that we could park our 6-berth motorhome anywhere we want. Sweet As! :)
The kitchen was tidy and well equipped but the electric stove was not hot enough, for some reason.
The common toilets (with coin operated showers) and sheltered BBQ area were very clean. I must say, the lounge (where we spent most of our free times at) was very cozy.
We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

We hired a 6-berth Deluxe motorhome to tour around the South Island for 10-days.
The motorhome was very new, clean, well-equipped and maintained, with plenty of storage space. The vehicle drove like a dream! We drove up to the Mt John Observatory and through the Cardrona Valley without any problem.
The electric and gas heaters worked perfectly and the extra duvets that Ayreal gave us kept us warm on chilly nights. The beds were comfortable and were cosy to sleep in.
Tony and Ayreal were friendly and easy to deal with!
(TONY) replied all my email enquiries promptly and handled the whole booking process efficiently. We had a flat battery in Oamaru (because someone left the park lights on overnight when we free-camped) so I called Tony - not knowing what to do. He immediately offered his assistance and guided me over the phone patiently - for more than 20 minutes. Then, he sent someone over to jumpstart our battery and our vehicle was up and running in no time.
(AYREAL) handled the pickup and handover of the vehicle efficiently - everything was done in a professional manner. She gave us a thorough briefing on the vehicle and answered all my questions patiently.
She is indeed a gem! She made us feel so welcomed. She goes above and beyond her duty, nothing is too much trouble for her. Thank you, Ayreal!
So, here's a well deserved PERFECT TEN from me!
Thank you, Tony and Ayreal for making our trip a truly memorable one. Keep up the excellent work and I wish you all the best!

The jetboat ride was fun - there were two 360' turns (I wished for more!).
Also, great commentary by the skipper. After the boat ride, they took us to the old bungy site with a suspension bridge where you can take beautiful pictures from. Great experience and value for money.

This is hands down the BEST campsite that we've stayed at during our 10-day trip around the South Island.
PROS:
- Affordable camp fees: $13/person (tent site)
- Clean and well-maintained Campsite
- Heated toilet blocks that are very clean, with free hot showers
- Huge & well-equipped Kitchen: I've NEVER seen such a well equipped kitchen before! You can find almost anything there, from roasting pans to table-mounted heavy-duty can opener; all labelled and stored in a tidy manner. You can even cook up a feast there, if you want to!
- The living area doubles as a dining area. There are comfortable sofas for you to relax-in, while watching TV.
- Very child-friendly: There's a big playground in the camp vicinity and I saw a high-chair in the living area.
CONS: None

The campsite is strategically located near the town centre.
The powered sites are huge and can accommodate up to 2 vehicles. Excellent staff. Great facilities - clean kitchen, nice hot showers and spa pools (could use some lighting though), plenty of chairs in the lounge, etc. Oh, the flushing system at the dump station is COOL!!
I just thought the TV could be bigger. :)
Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay very much - Thank you!
