We absolutely love it here, it’s New Year’s Eve and we have the whole beach basically to ourselves and the weather is fantastic compared to other parts of the country.
The campground is a little run down but only because of the floods last year and we are happy to support the holiday park. The service is amazing and the showers are fine $2 each. Short walk to beach. Close to cafe and dairy.
No check out time. It’s really big and friendly, casual and relaxed .
This holiday park supported and accommodated the whole town during the floods as they were the only ones with running water and laundry facilities . We will be back.

We loved this spot.
Lake was great for kayaking but no swimming due to bacteria levels.
Get here early as only a certain amount of campers allowed.
Toilet is in good condition.
Short walk to beach - pram friendly down concrete ramp/path.
Beach was great too for swimming. There is a paddling pool and playground by beach and an ice cream shop.
Kids had a ball.
No charge for camping at the lake! Was also very peaceful and small playground by lake to entertain kids.
Didn't do the lake walks but I'm sure they are lovely.

We loved this beach, it was such great value for money a powered site, toilets and showers for just $20 a night.
No issues with getting a camping spot mid summer.
Beach is so cool to explore especially with kids, lots of caves to walk Inside except when tide is high.
Playground is great for kids but no shelter.
Apparently a good fishing beach , saw a few big snappers being hauled in allthough we had no luck on this visit.
No life guards swim at your own risk.

Beautiful, isolated, peaceful location.
Pram friendly bushwalk to pontoon. Toilets are tidy and cold outdoor shower for cooling off.
Lake is great for kayaking but no swimming due to bacteria levels.
Bird life is great to wake up to and kiwi spotting is possible at night if you have a red light. We met so many new friends on our one night stay.
Feels like you are in Jurassic Park when going through the big gates!! Can't complain at all.
