One of my fav campsites on our trip we had warm muffins on arrival and got given animal food.
Went for a walk at dusk to see the gloworms which were many and very impressive. Definitely take the torch that is offered on loan from the owners and wear some good shoes can get slippery.

Great freedom camping spot in the middle of Nelson for self contained campers.
Well done Nelson council. Right by timezone. Stayed Friday night but was pleasantly suprised by the lack of noise after 11pm.

Not sure why some of the reviews don't like the price 22 per person is pretty standard for powered site it's 20 per person for unpowered.
A email, wallaby, deer, sheep, pig and wallaby plus ducks that follow you around. Pretty easy. Lots of sandflies here

Really great spot near a walkway and beautiful scenic lakes with lots of swans.
Clean Portaloos 5 min walk to them and 2 mins to the lake. Dogs allowed so some campers had friendly dogs with them which was a plus for us.

Well lit.
Clean toilets. We stayed here because we did a wine bike tour during the day. Really nothing to complain about when it's free. No problems with noise for us
