We rented a badmobil in July 2011.
Unfortunately our experience with the company was (and still is) extremely bad: We met only one person, Thomas, (the Austrian owner) - unfriendly and uncapable for a dialogue. To our experience, Bedmobils is a rip off company. The company charged us for several damages caused by the age of the old car, not by us. The company charged us a non-communicated extra fee of 5% (for credit card) on the total sum. The company suddenly refused the offered shuttle to the airport - we had to book a taxi to catch our flights in last minute. We do not expect high value for a budget price; but we expect minimal fairness to the customers, This was not given.
Extremely bad experience for us. Client particulary chose a small rental company for their creditcard fraud which unfortunatley we figured out too late. Long story but in regards to the above - total sum is not correct. 5% were charged on the rental rest amount as is was a NON-present transaction which involves a higher credicard convenience fee. The female part of the party was picked up free of charge from Auckland International Airport and after introduction and paperwork was completed explained that she had no money on her whatsoever and we shall please use the creditcard of the non present male partner. She was advised beforehand of the 5% NON-present fee and signed for it. She was also given the opportunity that we will hold the camper for her until her male partner arrives in New Zealand so she does not need to pay the extra fee. But she preferred the 1st option which later we found out was part of their game. The only reason why Thomas handed over the Bedmobil in the first place was because he did not wanted the woman to be alone in a foreign country with no money sleeping on the street. And that was what they counted on. How stupid does that make us? In regards to the damage - the damage was as follows - left hand mirror broken, missing left front wheel cap, scratches until the middle of the van etc. - i think everyone can make up their own mind of what has happened. All in all an unbelievable bad experience and i hope that no other company will make the same mistake as we have and take on this customer.
