Special place here, if you're lucky enough to score a spot on the beach, just magic.
Make sure you get out of Dodge if the rain is going to be continuously falling because you may get blocked in for a couple of days which isn't a bad thing.

Great spot for chilling out and using as a base

This site was full, however we checked out the next bay over, Algies Bay Reserve and it's absolutely beautiful.
Toilets are closed 7pm-6am. As mentioned in other review, this SC site isn't on Rankers. There are 3 spots for SC vehicles

Ae Marika, another awesome Wairarapa spot to camp at.
Didn't have the correct footwear to do the Pinnacles walk, duh.
2 flushing toilets with basins plus a longdrop one at the entrance to the camp site.

Ae Marika te Tairawhiti, tino ataahua, the east coast just beautiful.
An exposed site next to the beach with stunning views. There is a beautiful looking swimming hole next to the camp site, no cell phone coverage here either and I didn't see the sign that mentioned, travel several ks back towards town to get reception, my bad. Didn't get to use the facilities, I probably needed to inform the owner I was on site so they could come down and turn the water on, again my bad. Sadly the light house entry was closed to the public and for your info there's a public toilet at the light house carpark, there is a roadside notice board as you leave the township informing motorists of road closures and the light house closure but yet again I missed that one too.
I paid $20, $15 for the camp fee and I included $5 for the sticker of the campground, there wasn't a price for the sticker. I simply enjoyed the peacefulness of the camp site.

Ae marika this place is awesome.
Didn't stay in the camp but across the road next to the beach, be aware that it's still under the DOC umbrella and the fees apply there too, according to the warden. I had paid on arrival
since I was going to use the cooking area and toilets. 40 odd kms from Featherston and still worth the drive. Will definitely make this spot a regular weekend stay over.

Yet another beautiful spot in South Wairarapa.
Views across to the South Island are just stunning. Donations box, 2 clean disability toilets with hand sanitizer on site. Bring your mincer and some cream, go for a dive for some black gold and cook you some creamed paua, ae marika.

Ae marika, very peaceful spot if you park on the righthand side, disability toilets are clean.
Windy at times but still an awesome place to stay. You can park right next to the lake.

Beautiful spot to stay, bird life all around and the haunting sounds of the native ruru at night was just fantastic.
Seemed to be sheltered considering it was very windy in Featherston at the time
