Absolutely awful experience from the team at Ezicar Queenstown airport!
From the moment I dropped off the keys I was treated awfully.
I have been hiring cars for 25years and usually when I drop off keys they ask if everything went okay and if I had a nice holiday.
NOT BY THESE CROOKS - I was interrogated about the car and told to wait 10mins whilst the car was examined (even though my plane was boarding). When I queried this I was told it was because I hadn’t paid for the extra insurance!
There is no extra insurance just a fee to discount the excess from $3000 to $500.
They then went out of their way to show me a picture of a tiny ‘scratch’ on the underside of the bumper…. Incredibly this disappeared when my husband rubbed the dirt (scratch) off. Suddenly they found another one on the wheel arch. I was told that the repaint would be charged to my credit card!!!!
We had not caused any damage and low and behold when we complained to head office discovered that this was an existing scratch!!!
We were treated appallingly by very young adults that appeared to have a hidden agenda to belittle customers that would not be bullied into paying the excessive additional insurance.
Over and over I was told this was necessary as I hadn’t paid the extra.
In truth if the so called ‘damage’ was really there then I would have still had to pay as even with the additional extra payment $500 would still need to be forked out.
The whole experience was awful I would definitely recommend avoiding this company at Queenstown airport. They managed to completely ruin my holiday.
