Fantastic spot!
Each parking spot is in the bush, nice and isolated. The showers were lovely (hot water, good pressure).
Unfortunately the kitchen/BBQ area was neglected, quite dirty however we were there in the off season, I can imagine this place would be very popular and well used during the busy periods. We went out for dinner anyway so didn't affect us much
Cheap and good value for money ($25 for 2 for non-powered site). Self check in, plenty of signs/posters with good local information. Hot pools across the road, close to shops and restaurants/cafe.
I will be back again
Hi Erna
It's great to hear you will be back again and enjoyed our low prices. Everything gets cleaned every day, unfortunately with communal facilities some guests do leave a mess.

Clean facilities, best showers we have had on our trip through the south island.
Staff very friendly. Good to see the wildlife, the Weka were friendly and approaching people (used to being fed I suppose) and great seeing Kea in the trees. Only reason it didn't get 10/10 was the WiFi was expensive, $5 for 250mb, absolutely no signal throughout milford sound.

Plenty of spaces (we went in the off season).
Clean toilets, showers available (coin operated) but we didn't use them so can't say what they were like. Close to a fantastic pub, 2min walk. Convenient spot for our journey

Plenty of parking along the fence line, clean public toilets, about 5min drive to Hanmer Springs.
Felt close to everything yet isolated at the same time. Beautiful views of the snowy mountains and a river alongside where we parked. Highly recommend.
Was very windy when we went and limited shelter from the wind, made it slightly challenging to cook outside our camper, but didn't hinder our experience at all

Great spot, close to alot of the walks I wanted to do.
Plenty of parking and tables available. Clean toilet facilities, the one we parked close to was unfortunately shut due to the winter period but there were other toilets close. Lots of wildlife (rabbits and birds), was sad not to see any Kea but i guess we were unlucky!
There is a registration area, only accepts cash and a DOC officer comes through in the morning to do eftpos if you didn't have cash (about 8:30ish he passed through). Would visit again!

Decent facilities, kept nice and clean.
About 30mins from any stores/shops and we were out of luck with getting $1 coins for the showers, luckily the kind maintainence man gave me and my partner $2 to use!
Plenty of spots, we were given great advice by the maintanence man to park amongst the trees to shelter from the wind.
Nice walk along the seaside with plenty of rocks perfect for skimming!
For $10 overnight for an unpowered site for 2 people couldn't complain!

Good size spot, close to Lake Tekapo (6min drive).
Nice scenery surrounded by mountains. Clean toilet (long drop). Two picnic tables, one with covering. Close to the road so expect road noise.

Lovely spot behind the dunes, easy access to the beach.
2 parks available for self-contained so first in first serve! A bench bh the dunes is the perfect spot to watch the waves and sunset/sunrise
