Called last minute after being rejected from a camp site elsewhere.
They were just closing up but allowed us to camp and settle up in the morning. Really helped us out! Nice spot up in the hills. Clean amenities and awesome bar/cafe

So disappointed, we arrived at 9pm (after realising we had no cash and so bought dinner in the local pub to get some cash back) we parked up after reading that payment would be taken at any time by the
caretaker for him to come over and tell us “I’m not checking anybody in at this time, everyone has a phone, you can go back out the gate” of course we understand it was late, we just assumed from all the reviews that we would be able to just pay cash or settle in the morning, we’d have happily left our passports with him as guarantee but he wasn’t interested! Luckily Porters lodge in castle hill are happy to have us arrive and pay in the morning! Make sure you don’t arrive after dark.

Ideal location.
Around 10 mins walk to bars/restaurants. Great amenities, clean and spacious. Will be back when next camping in Wanaka

Good value for money.
$25.00 for 2 people non powered for night. Nice set up with private camping spots. Amenities clean and did the job. Hot pools across the road
