Negatives: you’re right next to a very noisy road, so not much sleep had.
Positives: very clean facilities, kitchen full of everything you need, lovely hot shower
The site is full of people who live there permanently, in very posh trailers, just feels a bit weird when you’re touring.
The hosts were very nice, but rented us the worst bikes ever. Don’t hire them, go to Napier and get a proper rental! We did explain how we hadn’t managed to get far as one of the bikes was virtually unridable and they still charged us the full amount

Paid $75 for three of us on a powered site.
Kitchen is fine, showers and toilets rather basic, which would be fine if the cost wasn’t so high
Host very nice and friendly and gave us a sheltered site in a windy day which was much appreciated
Has a cafe on site , and a grassy spot to sit by the beach.
Loads of hermit crabs running around in the rock pools!

Positives: good view, well placed to walk down the cliff to ocean beach, 5 min drive to Manu point for surf.
Facilities were clean. There is a cafe, but not open when we were there.
Negatives: the four powered sites are at the end of the car park, you literally have a parking space, so when people arrive next to you late or arrive early there is no peace.
There are lots of cabins on the site, you’re in their car park, so there’s lots of coming and going, headlights, loud music playing as cars pull in or leave.
There is a toilet and shower in a hut very close, shower hot but has about 10 jets operational.
For the privilege of sleeping in a car park we paid $68 a night for three of us, complete rip off.
Wished I had gone to the free site

This place is fantastic, we were only going to stay one night but then did two.
The pool was great, nice and warm, and the swim up bar was good fun. Facilities new and clean, good hot showers. Kitchen good for washing up, but you’ll need your own utensils

The road literally runs through this site, trucks all night, got no sleep.
Staff were great
We do have the highway run between the two sides of the holiday park... giving us Hillside and Lakeside options for caravans and campers. We're sorry that you did not have a restful stay with us and as much as we would love to move this road we, unfortunately, can't. For those that are more aware of the noise around them, we recommend the Hillside sites as they are further away from the road and reception have a supply of earplugs that are complimentary for the light sleeper. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we appreciate your feedback.

Worked well as an overnight stop for us.
30 minute walk or a quick uber to the centre and the restaurants.
Showers were hot, facilities were clean, pitch had a little hedge around it.
$67 for three of us

Friendly staff, good spots available right on the beach front, Spots are angled for the evening sun which is nice.
Cost $66 for a powered spot for three
Played a round of mini golf and hired a fishing rod - caught nothing!
Would come back
