This was a nice enough camp spot, however it gets very busy.
Make sure to get there early. We got there at around 3 and there was only 3 spots left. By 4 they had all gone (around 12). The parking is right by a park which is lovely. It did get noisy at one point with people passing through the park at 2am.
For those that don’t know, Rotorua smells due to the sulphur, therefore we would recommend keeping doors and windows closed.

Good spot.
Down side is that there are only 4-5 spots. When we got there, one camper had taken up 2 spaces so we had to squeeze into a small space. The spaces are along one side and you have to parallel park (they’re not drive in spots).
We would recommend getting here early. Some of the other freedom camps close by have restricted camping during the summer, this seems to be the only one without season restrictions. So bare this in mind as it quickly fills up.
There are toilets, they are ok.

Beautiful place to stay.
Right on the beach, and easy to find. Facilities were ok, showers were hot. I think it was slightly over priced. We stayed in the cheapest spot (2 mins from the beach front), at $55 for two people and a powered camper. We were tucked away in a quiet spot under some beautiful trees. I don’t think the beach front spots are worth $75. Beach here is stunning.

This campsite was ok, but we thought it was slightly over priced for what it is.
Facilities were basic, but showers were free (some other campsites in the area you have to) and hot.

This is a beautiful spot and we would highly recommend staying here.
Toilets are basic but clean.
There is a map as you enter the park, double check this as it shows you the areas you are allowed to camp. Do not park right by the lake, this is restricted.

This is a great little campsite.
We stayed in a powered spot, cost was $36. Facilities are great. The salt water pool was lovely. We’ll definitely stay again.
