We stayed for the weekend mid-February, a long (over an hour) but well-maintained gravel track to get there but well worth it.

Was a little windy and the water was warm enough to swim, also kayaked. Clear skies made for great star gazing and woke to a calm lake the next day. Watch out for sand flys and wasps though.
