Low score from us mainly because we were shoe- horned into a very small site surrounded by cars, backing onto the children’s trampoline and pool table area, so not very private or relaxing.
Some pitches were good, however so I recommend requesting closer to the water away from the buildings. Agree communal facilities are the best I’ve seen- modern appliances and well organised.

One of our favourite sites- well organised, lovely setting beside the river and friendly welcoming staff.
Pitches are roomy and facilities clean and well- maintained. Kayak hire available. Family friendly site, with pool and playground.

Family friendly site which also allows dogs.
Well set out grassy pitches, some with hedges. Dated facilities which aren’t the cleanest but good kitchen and bbq. Happy vibe on site, close to beach and Queen Elizabeth park so lots good walks. Happy to come here again.

We stayed 2 nights and loved this site.Cleanest facilities I’ve ever seen in a campsite.
Friendly staff and owners, who fitted us in at short notice. Dog friendly. 10 minute walk to stunning beach, fish and chips and dairy 5 mins walk. Pitches grassy and roomy. Will definitely return.
Hi Jane. Thanks for the lovely review and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.

A gem of a site- right beside gorgeous beach with pounding waves.
Actual facilities old but clean. Grass pitches. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is main draw- straight onto beach from site. Bring plenty of food and supplies as Mokau limited available.

Small site, hedges between pitches for privacy.
We just stayed one night whilst passing thru and it suited us for that but wouldn’t stay on a holiday. Kitchen well equipped, bathroom and laundry all clean.
