Really amazing spot right on the beach and so close to all the shops/restaurants in the centre of the town.
The toilet is a bit of a walk but the view is worth it. You have to move by 7am which I do think is a bit short sighted as nothing opens until gone 9am so not really an opportunity to support local businesses unless you want to wait around a few hours for things to open.

Great for a stop off point if you want a place to stay for the night.
The views are nice and there are plenty of spots. Only thing that wasn’t great was the toilets- no lights at night and no toilet paper.

Great camp site!
Best spots are the non powered on the beach front which we got. The facilities are good and there is a tv room. Could see how if it was busy it might have a different feeling but we loved our stay.

Probably the best camp site we have stayed at in NZ!
The facilities are amazing and feel really homely. The owners are lovely! They let us feed the eels and took us to see the glow worms at night. Would highly recommend.

It was our favourite site on the Cape.
Yes it is basic but the views are amazing and there was loads of room even in the peak Christmas holiday. It actually costs $15 per adult and $10 per child. Showers are $2 for 4 mins. No kitchen but small sink area for washing dishes if you don’t have your own facilities. Highly recommend if you want to get away from the crowds and chill out.

Great spot to stay for a night or two when visiting Hawkes Bay.
In walking distance to a four square and takeaway shop. You can also walk to the Elephant Hill winery and cycle to other wineries. We stayed here as we had an early start the next day for the gannet tour. Would highly recommend.

I think this is definitely more aimed at families.
It was $65 a night for two of us on a non powered camp site. You had to pay extra for the showers which I thought was a bit much after the cost of staying there was so high. The size of the pitches were generous but it felt really cramped as people used every last inch of grass for their camp set up and also had to find space for their cars. The neighbouring camp pitch parked their car on our site twice which was really annoying. The facilities were fine. It rained so bad, which is not the camp grounds fault but there is literally nothing to do on a rainy day. We called it quits after one night despite having paid for two. Looked great for a family holiday but if you are a couple traveling during peak holiday times looking for some piece and quiet there are some really nice freedom camping spots near by.
