A well-positioned, clean and tidy camping ground.
Quite adequate for our overnight campervan stopover.

A neat little space for two campervans – but we were the only ones there on our night (for which we were grateful, as two vans would be a tight fit in the allotted space).
Clean toilets 30m away, gas BBQ pit, and (cold) shower outside the toilets. Quite a bit of evening and early morning activity on the reserve, with families visiting and dog-walking, so it felt a bit less private than we would have liked.

A lovely spot for a night or two.
Plenty of space even if 6-8 others are there. Toilets are well graffitied, but adequate. A lovely swimming spot in the river, and an enjoyable river walk.

A VERY clean, homely campsite.
Where else do you get flowers and music in the toilets! Kitchen was well-equipped and virtually spotless. Very reasonably priced ($30 for a powered site for two people). Great value.

A pleasant site for a campervan overnight stopover.
Kitchen and toilets are small and a bit weary, but very reasonably priced ($30 for two persons for a powered site).

Plenty of space for a number of campervans.
Toilets nearby were clean.

Plenty of space among some longer term stayers.
The toilet block was closed, and the nearest other toilets are 150 m down the road. We duly got our permit online, but no one asked to see it on our overnight stay.

Quite suitable for an overnight stop.
Park up on shingle/asphalt., and a bit barren. Public toilets are clean – and closed overnight, so don't depend on using them.

A small site (only for 4-5 vehicles), but quiet, and with very clean toilets – even a (cold water) shower nearby.
A short walk to the beach.

Beside the road, but grassy and with lovely sea views.

Quite a bit of natural space, right beside a fairly stony beach.
Great coastal views by day and a stunning starry sky on the clear night we stayed. No public facilities. Other campervanners had sea kayaks, and were hauling in plenty of fish. Well worth the 10km or so of fairly narrow winding, unsealed road beyond Colville to get there – drive carefully.

We had a superb experience with Kia Ora campers.
A clean and reliable 2-berth campervan, and with Vicky and Steve ready and able to respond promptly and efficiently to the occasional query we had about aspects of our campervan experience with them. We were delighted that they matched the price of our rental with that of a lower offer we had received from another company. It's a pity that while COVID-19 impacts on lack of tourists New Zealand, their fleet is solely S.Island based.
