Pros: - nice view - awesome water pressure at shower and unlimited shower time - small dated playground - close to the ferry to Stewart island Cons: -bit overpriced 60$ for powered site for 2
adults and one infant
- no staff, self check in with cash
- no campsite vibe as you are on an open field in a suburb
- dated cold facilities without utensils etc.

We were with our 6 berth camper and had a great time here. It's truly an amazing campsite with very clean facilities and stunnings views from almost every spot.
Enough picknicktables, a playground for the little ones; It's perfect for families. The glowworms at the back of the campsite at night are a cool experience as well.
More pros:
- friendly staff
- camping shop
Cons:
- coin system for showers

Plus: Perfect facilities, very friendly staff.
We paid 35NZD for 2 adults and a 2 year old on a powered camper site. There is a golf course next to the camp site if you want to improve your swing.
Minus: the name riverside is a bit misleading since the camp site and the river are a 10m walk apart.
To conclude: great spot to start your trip!

Awesome free spot with the sea right in front of you where you can snorkle, you can buy lunch/dinner 30m at the fish place and 15mins walk is Point Kean with loads of seals, what's not to like?
We were here in december and it got full around 6 but guess thats incomparable in these corona times...
