We payed $12.50 per person for unpowered.
Absolute bargain this place is very modern and clean, free hot showers. It has a retirement village feel to it as the whole site has permanent residents by the looks who live in very nice homes. Definitely worth a stay

Fantastic campsite worth a lot more than $10 per person in comparison to others we've stayed.
Its huge and has very good facilities. It was full of mountain bikers creating a very cool chilled vibe. If we had more time we would have stayed a few more nights. No mobile coverage but that was actually nice to just detach and enjoy the surroundings but they do offer wifi if you can't live without it for one night

Perfect FREE place to stay, it's tucked away very nicely, lush green cliffs to the left and coast to the right, all you can hear is the sounds of birds, the start of the mount walk is a few metres away
and the car park for mount Manaia only 5 mins drive or 30 mins walk away.
When you arrive the GPS will say that the small green carpark at the bottom is it but you must drive up what looks like someones steep driveway to the left to get to this spot.
A walk up Mount Manaia is a must. It took us 1.5 hours return but the views are worth it on a sunny clear day.

Great place plenty of places to pitch.
Very clean and modern toilet/shower and kitchen facilities similar to a holiday park. Fresh drinking water available too. Black sand beach just 200 metres walk. We liked it enough to stay an extra night.

Don't judge this place by the picture it is a LOT nicer than shown I wish I'd of taken one while there.
Its right on the river for swimming, crystal clear water like a swimming pool. Heaps of space to park and great toilets that are cleaned regularly. You can no longer camp right at the waters edge but you can still park there all day as soon as the barrier is lifted..very safe and picturesque campsite very close to town..yes you do get cars arriving at all hours but is that really an issue? If it is then you're getting old lol
