Lovely area accessed by short dirt road.
Facilities are so old and bereft of any obvious maintenance BUT it’s a place to stay with clean ablutions (lots of hot water) and a laundry. Go to sleep with sound of Kiwi calls.

Just a short walk from Point Beach where you can swim in a great sheltered beach, Topeka might be a bit steep for some but.
It’s not far and well worth the effort for the panoramic views from Paihia around to Te Rawhiti inlet. Doesn’t cost a bean.

What a hidden gem.
Not your a-typical summer campground. Focus is on nature experience not partying. Really friendly staff only too happy to provide info. QUIET.
Great seaside camp sites next to waters edge but was really windy on the day we visited so the upper ground sheltered us from the wind nicely.
Bush walk in the dark and saw a big brown Kiwi - WOW!
Amenities are all really good and clean.
Great place for a more eco experience.

We were a walk-up in camper van wanting a powered site.
Owner/manager seemed rather stressed at welcome stage and seemed that all the business was a bit much. First of all Rankers, this place does NOT have a dump Station which your info says it does have. You have to go past Cooper’s Beach to get to one.
Park is well set out with good clean amenities. $46 for powered site for 2. Nice little shop for essentials and some fast food.
Water supplies obviously a challenge which was obviously front and centre worry for the Owner but that’s an essential customers require when staying.

Doing Kiwi RV experience so one night stop.
Functional austere place, concrete RV stands which is good but quite tight. V close to town. Good clean bathrooms but closed them at 9.30am for cleaning, 30min before checkout. You won’t remember Queenstown due to the campground but serves its purpose. Bit on the pricey side but hey thats Queenstown I guess.

One night stay doing the kiwi RV experience.
Major road works into the place and earthworks right behind so dusty and noisy during a working day. No reflection on the camp ground but you should be aware of it.
Waterfront sites are unbeatable with long sealed stands (book ahead if you can), the others are on rough metal surface but all have stunning lake views. Spotless bathrooms, laundry and kitchen.
