3.5/5
I stayed in this lovely off the beaten spot, on my way to Tauranga.
It is right by a sea inlet lagoon, surrounded by water, with great views all around. It would be pretty busy in summer, at xmas time, as there's lots of vans parked up with their spots. A large camp with plenty of space for campers. Facilities are a little older but clean and suitable. There's plenty of pippis and oysters to be found in the inlet lagoon, if you enjoy foraging for them and eating them. Nice walks along the tidal beach on a good day. With the amount of people staying her in high season, you would think a barrier coded arm, would be in place at the entry gate. It is old fashioned with a padlock, each time you come and go, its a tedious nuisance. Also, there is a (refundable) charge of $20 for the key, which I've never struck in all my travels, over 2 and half years around the North Island ! These little things that make a holiday stay a little annoying, when it could be fabulous!
