Extremely unfriendly and churlish greeting here, a far cry from everywhere else on our South Island adventure.
$50 for two adults in a campervan, packed in with no privacy. Thought better of it and headed down the road to the most amazing freedom camping spot. This is awful overpriced tourist trap nonsense.

A truly amazing spot, definitely the best on our South Island adventure.
Amazing views, plenty of space and a magnificent view of the stars. Seriously, this is what freedom camping is all about. A far cry from the dusty building site charging $50 a night in Lake Tekapo, well worth the 30 minute drive.

We arrived late afternoon and a bitterly cold and snowy afternoon, had the entire place to ourselves.
Plenty of places to tuck our campervan, woke up to breathtaking views after a night of heavy snow. No trouble getting out as the gravel roads are in great condition.
