Stayed here quite a few times during the months of July/ August 2020.
New Brighton is quite run down and sad looking, however it’s an ideal place to stay when visiting Christchurch. Drinking water and toilets across the road. Don’t have to park directly across the road from the toilets as further down there’s more spaces to freeedom camp. Only problem I had was people tend to beep as they drive by during the night and one night this occurred at 4 in the morning....and it was a long beep🥴

Took FOREVER to get here and we didn’t look at the map beforehand so we didn’t realise we had to go back the same route.
Also not even sure If we stayed at the right place as it was pretty much a dead end. Also got eaten alive by sandflies the following morning.
