Speaking as an approx 50 year old kiwi, place felt very genuine.
Facilities of their era when built, clean, upkept.
Super nice check in experience.
We visited at a quiet time, and the absence of what looked like more frequent guests at semi permanent sites was welcome.
Strongly disagree with an earlier Dutch reviewer on feeling but each to their own.
Showers did look to take coins, we used our own shower, so that seemed odd to my nearly cashless life.
Just be prepared, I am supposing the office anticipates coin demand as an exchange site.
We camped as close to beach as possible. Serene.
Laid back approach to check out time given the season left us feeling even happier than expected.
The layout of windbreaks natural and otherwise lend a feeling of greater privacy and retreat than would an open expanse.
Totally recommend

Not a really negative experience, but certainly not a positive.
We are in a camper, self contained.
Bit too tourist dollar oriented for mine.
Obviously tekapo, etc etc,
No soul.
People absolutely fine and friendly, no complaints, but would never visit again. 1 night.
Nb, rating has no reflection on or influence by major roadworks, that’s just bad timing or luck.

We rate wifi highly, to have laughable reliability, even ‘free’ is a bit silly and cheap.
The tech is available, not expensive, get with the program!!
Clean enough, tidy enough, overpriced for what it is for me, especially dollar showers.
Good way to control water I guess, but unmetered and free showers the other end of the bay....
Pleasant staff, certainly no dramas.
