We arrived on a cold, wet, windy afternoon after phoning ahead, to a lovely lady dressed in a raincoat who showed us where to park our 7m motorhome, and gave us a run down of the lodge, which had a fire
place that she had lit earlier.
Although an older building it was very clean and comfortable. We were the only guests there and but we had full use of the kitchen, living, dining, shower and toilet.
It is farm setting on a hill facing northeast.
We woke to a beautiful, quiet, sunny morning with quite amazing veiws of the Mangamuka's and part of the Hokianga harbour.
The Mountain Rd it is on is very aptly named, with a couple of spots being very narrow. But not a problem for the more adventurous.

The second most beautiful place we stayed on our trip
The first was the other end of the lake the next night. The weather for this time of the year certainly helped. With beautful sunny days and not a breathe of wind. We were the only ones there in our area of the camp so it was very peaceful with amazing sunsets. Toilets, rubbish and dump station. Great play ground for the kids.
