Great crossing with superb views.
Smooth but very windy!!
Found out after booking that we could have got a discount with the Kiwi camp site card.

We loved it here.
Extremely helpful staff, good facilites, great hot pools/swimming pool and a fantastic view of the mountains.
Very handy for Whale Watch plus there's a Subway across the road.
Stop for a coffee at "The Coffee Hit" along the road and get free Wi-Fi.

Good advice given for nearby restaurant - "The Bay".
OK overnight stay. Free showers - always a bonus!
Manager was up late cleaning as previous people have mentioned.
Thanks for your review Jon_and_Family! Glad you found the short walk to the local bar & restaurant "The Bay" an advantage- isn't it great!

An excellent walk with amazing views.......and it's free!!!
Disappointed that you can only walk on ice with a guided tour (unlike in 1995 during last visit) but essential nonetheless.

Not too smelly and a great walk down through the valley with some amazing sights along the way.
Good information boards and a welcome bus trip back to the car park.

A nice site but a bit of a distance from the office.
OK facilites.
Great views of Mount Cook in the morning.
Thank you very much for your great review. The views are phenomenal aren't they (you can never get sick of them!). Yes our office is about 300m from the Holiday Park. The Centre is located close to the road, and the Holiday Park is purposely located so that it has great views of Aoraki Mt Cook, access to Lake Pukaki and of course shelter amongst the trees and native bush.
We hope to see you back at Glentanner in the future.

Fantastic hot pools.
Good value for money.
Only downside was Spurs losing to Real Madrid whilst we were staying there :o(

Superb facilites - kitchen, dining room, lounge, etc.
We were the very first to use the new oven!!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
We spent three nights here as our base for Fjordland.
Short walk into town and the lake.

Oh dear.
Worst park we stayed in I'm afraid but it was a case of plug in for the night and head off.
Further off the main road than we'd thought.
If we had got a 3G internet connection down the west coast (and read the reviews) we'd have stayed elsewhere!
Sorry........

Arrived extremely stressed having taken the Akatarawa Valley road across from Waikanae.
NOTE - DO NOT USE THAT ROAD IN A CAMPERVAN!!
The manager was very helpful and site good but the first night was spoiled by rowdy young neighbours (outside the park) partying until late. Not unusual we were told.
Second night was fine.

A hairy drive in the campervan up to the observatory but absolutely amazing views when at the top.
Nice (but expensive) cafe.
We're glad we branched off the road to see this.

Very professional, safety conscious and friendly staff - great with 14 year old daughter jumping.

Excellent personal customer service and prompt replies to (many) emails both before and during trip.
Minor glitches with equipment but promptly and willingly sorted out.
The van was great and a home-from-home. A bit older than was expecting but was fine.
Would definitely recommend and we will use Wilderness again when we (hopefully) return to NZ.

We loved it here.
A bit expensive but superb modern facilites and a short walk away from a beautiful town with excellent restaurants.
Kitchen was a bit small for such a large site.
I could live here (the town, not the camp-site!).

Go in the evening and back the next day on the same ticket to see kiwis at night and in the kiwi house during the day.
You can get very close to the kiwis and staff are very knowledgeable.
The kiwis are beyond cute.
Best stocked and best value gift shop we discovered over three weeks travelling. We bought most of our gifts there.

A good place to stay before flying home the next day.
We walked into Christchurch from here (even though bus stop is right outside the site) because the buses were not running to time-table. It took about 45 minutes and some if it was past some rather run-down housing along the busy main road.
Very helpful staff though - we'd run out of shampoo and were given some by the lady on duty in the office.

Amazing cable car ride to the top and then up a bit further for the luge.
12 and 14 years olds loved it as did the old farts.

We dithered whether to leave the main road to brave the gravel road to The Waterworks but so pleased we did.
For the first time (in a long time) our 14 year old daughter was suddenly a child again!! Fantastic!
Excellent playground and lots of laughs with the hamster wheel.
Highly recommended.

It's a bit out of town but pick-up by Dolphin Encounters was arranged for the bay boat trip.
