Large open park with no specific pitches.
Basic dry toilets and an outside coldwater shower. Some bar-b-que points dotted about. OK for a picnic but little to recommend it as a camspite. There is a walk along clifftop that leads to a Maori Pa (Earth Fort). Was charged 12$ per person which I thought was overpriced.

A paid for leaflet from I-Site showing a walking tour, plenty of information but directions were a bit hard to follow.
Probably better with a quided tour. Napier Antiques on Tennyson Street is well worth a visit - almost a museum of all things art deco. Their prices seemed reasonable too. Also take a (steep) walk or drive to Bluff Hill which has fine view over harbour and good information plaques describing areas of activity in the harbour

Staff seemed a bit rushed and only gave advice when prompted.
Couldn't give advice about free or all day parking ( most of Napier centre has 2 hr time limit ) depite there being an all day car park about 500 netres away on Marine Parade. Toilets were clean and tidy.

Fantastic experience, sailed to Robertson Island and swam in bay and lagoon, paddled kayaks and got to steer boat and help with hoisting sails.
Nice walk to scenic viewpoint on Island. A good picnic lunch provided. Total trip about 6 hrs which seemed reasonable value for money, Skipper was friendly and informative, Sadly no dolphins seen, but penguins and bronze whaler shark were. Glorious weather made trip even better. Fully reccomend and probably a much better experience than the power cruises where the boats seem overcrowed and commercialised.

1st class campsite on a par with best in Europe, but price reflects this.
We visited in April which was end of season so campsite had low occupancy. All facilities clean neat and tidy. Only gripe was on site cafe closed at 9pm with last meals at 8:30 but this maybe because it was out of season. In a quiet respectable area beside a nice park and short drive to city centre.

Beautiful park with a variety of gardens, clean and tidy and a joy to walk through.
One of the nicest parks in the world. Regrettably I visited on an extremely hot day and didn't spend as long as I would have wished due to the heat.
A small camper van site would make a great addition and enable more time to be spent there.

Stayed here at campervan site for 3 nights over two week period as my Son lives in Hamilton.
Had no problems with staf. Being at end of season site was quiet for 2 of the nights and busy on 1 night due to baloon festival. Showers were hot but the time out quickly requiring the button to be continually pressed. Disagree with other comments about Hamilton - good shopping City with nice parks and walks and good restuarants. Campervan park in quiet area and not within walking distance of City centre

Stayed for 3 nights on campervan site.
Nice location on sheltered bay, easy access to a walk arround the headland offering beautifull views. Kayaks awailable for hire, water is shallow and tide goes out a long way. Beach is a bit rough with shells so crocs or similar advised. A bit far out of Paihai to walk to. Clean and tidy, although pitches a bit uneven and sandy. Free wifi a big plus.

DOC beachside campsite with wonderful views, a bit remote but nice scenic drive to it, if heading to / from Russell.
Warden was helpful and friendly. Usual DOC dry toillets which weren't as smelly as some I've encountered. Cold showers, but all clean and tidy. A good place to chill out. Pitches were a bit uneven

Small site which is clean and tidy with friendly helpful staff.
Stayed for 1 night in a cabin which was equipped with TV, fridge, kettle, 2 large single beds and 4 bunks. Nice short walks nearby along a river bank and also longer treks. Good for a stopover site if heading to Northlands from Auckland.

Small family run enterprise, which is not as comercialised as Waitomo.
Staff member was very friendly and informative. Tour lasted about 20 minutes and a further 15-20 min walk through interesting limestone rock formations on exiting cave. If you just want to see glow worms this tour is far more affordable offering good value.

Excellent company, providing good old fashioned service with a smile.
Nothing too much trouble. Clear, unambiguous quotes - pay you see is price you pay, no hidden extras. Fast responses to e-mails. Prompt pick-up / drop off at airport(s). Camper was well maintained, clean, tidy & supplied with everything you need.
